Gloucester Arts Club is exhibiting a solo exhibition of works by Ross Caliendo called Dusk Ritual as part of Hong Kong Art Month. Running from March 25 to April 24, 2024, this marks Caliendo’s debut solo show in Asia. Dusk Ritual showcases Caliendo’s naturalistic figuration paintings, exploring the interplay of light, darkness, and human experience, particularly during twilight moments.

Caliendo’s bold brushwork, intricate textures, and vibrant color palette define his distinctive style, offering a surreal interpretation of the natural world. His work, such as the captivating landscape piece Untitled (2024), combines realism with abstraction to evoke profound narratives and emotions. Gloucester Arts Club aims to foster creativity and intellectual discourse, providing a platform for cultural exchange during the exhibition.

Kevin Poon, the club’s art curator and founder of WOAW Gallery, emphasizes the club’s commitment to art as an integral part of members’ experiences. As part of the exhibition programming, Poon spearheaded a talk delving into the themes and concepts behind Caliendo’s work, offering deeper insights into his artistic vision.

Dusk Ritual is currently on view until April 26, 2024 at the address below.
