Welcoming 77 local, national, and international galleries, Affordable Art Fair NYC will alight once again at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea this September 25–29, 2024. Featuring thousands of artworks by more than 400 artists, the 36th edition promises new and exciting discoveries for collectors at all stages of their collecting journey, with price points falling between $100 and $12,000. A diverse range of mediums will also be reflected, with galleries showcasing everything from prints and photographs to paintings and sculptures—meaning there is something for everyone.

For the forthcoming Affordable Art Fair NYC edition too, a new addition to the fair’s Fellowship Program has been named: Harsh Collective. The program, which was established in Fall 2022, aims to foster and support emerging local galleries and organizations through dedicated exhibition space within the fair, as well as additional resources, underwriting, and mentorship. Recent Fellowship Program alum and inaugural participant Established Gallery has become a proof of concept for the program, as it experienced a 24% increase in sales between its first and second editions and a 60% increase between its second and third editions.

Harsh Collective, based in Manhattan, alongside returning fellow program galleries Sheer and Eleventh Hour Art, maintains a mission of demystifying the art market by foregrounding each artist and artwork’s story, with the result being the strengthening. Artists slated to be featured by Harsh Collective for its first edition are Johanna Kestilä, Gabriela Kramer, and Uzo Njoku.

“To see the progress of the Fellow galleries over time has been one of the most rewarding professional experiences I’ve ever had,” said Affordable Art Fair NYC Director Erin Schuppert. “Their genuine passion and excitement about having the opportunity to present their artists to the fair’s 12,000 visitors each edition is contagious and that’s exactly what keeps the fair fun and fresh for all of us.”
