Sotheby’s New York stages a landmark auction of Louis Poulsen’s most rare lighting.

Until Dec. 12 Sotheby’s New York will showcase twelve rare Louis Poulsen lamps by Danish designer Poul Henningsen, in celebration of the brand’s 150th anniversary. The auction’s highlights include the PH Spiral Pendant, whose value is estimated at $100,000–$150,000, and other historically significant pieces that exemplify Henningsen’s pioneering approach to lighting design.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has unveiled concept art for a $550 million modern and contemporary art wing, designed by Frida Escobedo and slated to open in 2030.
