Dorsia’s Neon Disco Installation Lights Up Coachella

This year at Coachella, Dorsia founder and Surface CEO Marc Lotenberg collaborated with experiential artist MokiBaby to dream up an installation inspired by the neon nights on dance floors around the world. Nike plans to lay off approximately 740 employees at its Oregon headquarters as part of a broader strategy to cut costs amid expected revenue declines in the first half of fiscal 2025. This reduction is the “second phase of impacts” and aligns with the company’s previously announced goal to save $2 billion over three years. Despite the layoffs, Nike’s stock saw a marginal increase in after-hours trading, although it has fallen nearly 13 percent this year. The cuts come after CEO John Donahoe blamed remote work for the company’s stagnant innovation.

MacDowell, a prominent artist residency program, has honored Yoko Ono with the Edward MacDowell Medal for her lifetime achievements in art, music, and film. Nell Painter, MacDowell’s board chair, praised Ono’s seven-decade career for its enduring impact on feminism, migrant rights, and the arts, highlighting her continuous relevance and call for peace. Although Ono, aged 91, will not attend the ceremony, her music manager, David Newgarden, will accept the prestigious award on her behalf at the event in New Hampshire.

The event will include a live sale and an online auction, along with a public exhibition at Christie’s London.
