Cj Hendry’s Flower Market installation on Roosevelt Island in New York City surrounds visitors with 100,000 handcrafted plush flowers staged inside a massive greenhouse. The exhibition is realized in collaboration with Clé de Peau Beauté and is inspired by the Roosevelt family, Ralph Waldo Emmerson’s poetry, and Louis Kahn’s original vision for Four Freedoms State Park. Visitors are even encouraged to take home a plush blossom of their own. On the eve of its final day, however, Hendry revealed that the exhibition was forced to vacate Roosevelt Island and relocated to Industry City, instead.
Trahan Architects wraps up almost 20 years of renovations to New Orleans’ Superdome.
Trahan Architects has completed a major interior renovation of New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome, a project that began after Hurricane Katrina. The upgrade modernized the stadium with expanded circulation spaces, new lounges, and additional seating, while maintaining its aluminum facade and addressing accessibility and ventilation needs. The changes are expected to extend the Superdome’s life by 25 years.
More than 200 local artists will be exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum’s borough survey.
