Koons’ mirror-polished stainless steel sculpture Three Graces (2016–2022) will be displayed in the courtyard of the Palace of Charles V, while Picasso’s oil and charcoal on canvas work The Three Graces (1923) will appear in the Palace’s Museum of Fine Arts.

Picasso’s plaster sculpture Head of a Warrior (1933) and two works from Koons’ ‘Gazing Ball’ series—plaster sculptures augmented with intensely blue glass orbs—will also be displayed in the Museum.

Miguel López-Remiro, Artistic Director of Museo Picasso Málaga, said, ‘The museum of the 21st century presents itself as an amplified space where art transcends boundaries and engages in dialogue with multiple contexts—a museum envisioned as a public square, a meeting point, and a place of future exploration.’

‘The “Reflections Picasso” project is embedded in this vision, seeking to intermittently expand the presence of the Picasso Museum Málaga in collaboration with iconic Andalusian spaces, creating new opportunities to deepen the understanding of Picasso’s work,’ he said. —[O]
